The Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort underwent a comprehensive renovation project in 2018 to include a water play area for resort guests. These amenities included a swimming pool, a lazy river, and the beloved Wakulla splash pad. Over the years, the splash pad, with its large water playground and themed water features, became a popular attraction. However, after six years of continuous use, it faced considerable wear and tear, requiring a complete renovation.

Westgate Resorts turned to Village Pools of Central Florida, the original builders of the splash pad, to undertake the renovation project. Village Pools collaborated with AquaWorx, a local filtration and splash pad company, to provide an updated splash pad design. AquaWorx examined the existing piping system and recommended new water features compatible with the current filtration and plumbing layout.

The newly renovated splash pad now boasts an array of exciting water features designed to delight guests of all ages and abilities. Among the new additions are a dolphin-themed water feature, dumping buckets, mushroom water features, water cannons, large misting water features, and a custom, heightened Aqua Sphere. These enhancements not only rejuvenate the splash pad but also ensure a captivating, inclusive, and safer environment for family water play.

The renovation was completed just in time for spring break, a peak season for Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort. The timely completion of the project allowed the resort to offer a fresh water play experience to its guests during one of the busiest times of the year. The feedback from the resort has been overwhelmingly positive. The Development Regional Director of Westgate Resorts expressed their satisfaction, stating, "We are getting very good reviews on the products we installed at our Cocoa Beach resort splash pad. We appreciate your team’s help with getting the features selected and delivered on schedule."
