Dade City Splash Pad Equipment

Location: Dade City, Florida

Project Type: Interactive water features and recirculating filtration equipment for community splash pad.

Features:

The Dade City Park Improvement Project, covering a total of 2.3 acres, is a community-focused development aimed at enhancing local engagement through family-friendly activities. The project includes a playground and a splash pad to provide residents with enjoyable outdoor spaces. The splash pad, a key feature of the park, was designed with significant community input. Conceptual renderings of the splash pad were displayed around city hall, allowing residents to vote on their preferred design. The city sought the opinions of 200 second graders from the local elementary school who visited city hall on a field trip to select the interactive water features and water toys, ensuring that the splash pad would be both child-approved and a source of community pride.

The final splash pad design spans 2,500 square feet and is creatively painted to resemble a beach, with water features strategically placed to inspire imaginative play. For example, a custom Aqua Kumquat Tree, themed after Dade City's celebrated fruit, is positioned in the "sand" area of the splash pad, while an Aqua Crab playfully resides in the "water" bay. The splash pad's water features, along with its painted flooring, all contribute to a vibrant and dynamic water play environment.

The splash pad operates on a recirculating filtration system, which treats and recycles the water using pool filters and secondary UV, splash pad sanitation. A collector tank holds the water supply, and main drains on the splash pad surface ensure efficient water filtration. The splash pad water management system is housed in a gated equipment yard adjacent to the splash pad, keeping it discreetly out of sight.

This project is the result of a collaborative effort between AquaWorx, the splash pad manufacturer, and Florida Play Structures, the pool builder, who worked together to bring this community vision and water playground to life.
